Salary: 30,000–£38,000 + Car Allowance & Bonus
Take the next step in your quantity surveying career and start developing independence. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll actively support live projects, take ownership of defined work packages, and contribute directly to commercial decisions while working alongside a senior surveyor.
This role balances autonomy with mentorship, giving you the chance to grow into a fully-fledged Quantity Surveyor.
What you’ll do
- Support the commercial team by applying the companies processes to manage costs, maximise value, and maintain accurate project records.
- Assist with procurement of subcontractor and supplier packages, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and company approval procedures.
- Help monitor cashflow through valuations, invoicing, and payment tracking, while contributing to subcontract account settlement and variations.
- Attend and contribute to project launch, design, subcontractor, and internal team meetings, providing commercial input and support.
- Assist with project close-out, including O&M/H&S documentation, statutory compliance, and timely off-hire of plant/assets.
What you’ll need
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction-related subject
- Some experience in a commercial or surveying role (placement year or post-grad ideal).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Confidence to take on responsibility while still keen to learn from senior staff.
